THE GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ

This is our first time to the Grand Canyon. I should have expected the paved hikes and overabundance of touristy stuff. We have met people from all over the world. An older couple from China even wanted to pose with our family for a picture. It was fun. The view is so surreal that I think its majesty is lost on the boys. Not on me or Joel. It is more fantastic than in my dreams. The boys want t ride their bikes all over this park.

Jules and Jude earned their Junior Ranger badges. My aunt Pam bought then Junior Ranger Vests! Gotta pin those tiny pieces of gold onto a vest or we'll lose them. Jude already lost his Petrified Forest badge. It was devastating. We'll get another one via mail.

The boys all rode their bikes all over the green-dotted trails of this park! It was their favorite thing! I sat in the marketplace cafe trying to update this blog with a wacky internet connection. Patience is becoming my new profession.

The forst night we stayed at Mather campground inside the park. It was nice. A lot of harrowing, death-defying hills for the boys to speed down on there bikes. That gives it an A plus, 5-star rating in our family. The second night we stayed out in the middle of nowhere, just outside the park. It was amazing! We could scream and dance and sing really loud and NO ONE COULD HEAR US! Inhale. Exhale. Ahhh, the peace of being ourselves.
